Västkransen Records are proud to release the debut EP of Stockholm's house savants HK. The main project of Hampus Ribbing and Kristoffer Banks, HK have garnered attention for their dynamic and unpredictable live sets. Having spent five years in the studio engineering their deep and mesmerizing grooves, the duo now surfaces with 'A Kind of Love EP', featuring three original tracks and a remix from French wunderkind and D.KO head Flabaire.

On the A-side, HK begins with the melancholic but captivating 'A Kind of Love'. The duo then goes deeper on the hypnotizing, yet dancefloor-oriented, 'Hiccup'. On the flipside, Flabaire presents a dreamy and jazz-inspired remix of 'A Kind of Love', after which HK sums up the EP with 'Angry Bird', a percussion-infused take on the rougher deep house sound

In March 2020, the Omakase team decided to gather some producers, musicians and singers they knew around a collective project, having the large electronic music spectrum as principal axis. From this idea was born, a few months later, a multiple opus, varied, rich of textures, shapes and influences going from trip-hop and bass to ambient, breaks, beat, house, lo-fi and jungle. This compilation, first record of the label, regroups several talented artists from the modern electronic music scene who try to question sounds of today and tomorrow.

Life is Worth Living, officially a second LP from El Niño Andrés, comes 9 years after its debut LP "Más Dinero Más Problemas", but sound wise it's still walking on the borderline between house, jazz and soul. El Niño's usual combination of Rhodes and Moog improvisations on top of house and jazz-funk drum-lines is present on all album tracks, with live sax additions on "Come Closer" and "Mercy Mercy". Album is an uptempo affair, but as usual with Jackie Brown releases, not your straightforward 4x4 routine - poly-rhythms and percussion drive "Wasting Your Life" and "Soul", while "The Approach of Midnight" sounds like it could have been placed straight into a Tenet soundtrack LP.
