Third and last episode of the Generative Operation series is here.Completing the same style and vision, cinematic, technical and minimal concept trying to push forward a contemporary electro in our days. Evolving synth lines with a generative structure from new massive modular patches. Progressive minimalistic rhythms and sequenced tracks with different results as always elements can change every time they are played back again as a unique listening. A rare topic this time is that two 303 basslines have been addeddin the track GenOp10, they are interlaced with different step lenghts patterns as a tribute to put this classic synth from roland into a spacey environment and not always in the raver side of the music. The limited edition vinyl has been pressed in 180gr. keeping up theanalog character sound in this format, meanwhile the digital version will be a clearer and clinical one.
Nicola Loporchio and Michele Lamacchia return to the Cosmic Rhythm imprint and introduce you to a new project, State Of Soul. They will guide you through deep, Italo, Balearic and Mediterranean sonorities, Afro, jazz and soul.
On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the 1st of a 3EP set highlighting the music on 1990's Norwegian electronic act Neural Network. In 1993-1995 they released 2 full albums or Origo Sound that featured label mates Biosphere. In 1993 they opened up for Prodigy and shared the bill with other seminal acts like AFX, Autechre, Orbital and H.I.A among other heavyweights. However, their 2 full albums 'Brain-State-In-A-Box' & 'Modernité' did not get picked up by any other label or distributer and their popularity stayed regional. In fact a 3rd album was never released (Until part 3 comes from this series!) and sadly they went their separate ways to form other electronic acts in 1997. We hope to shine a bright light on their early music. Side A features the wonderful aquatic adventure in 'Aqueous' followed by a shift into the sci-fi realm with the mysterious 'Mechanical Heart'. Two great examples that show off the group's deep post rave sound for the future. A real melding of styles. All 3 EP's have inserts where the band shares their memories of the early days. All these tracks in the series are placed on vinyl for the first time with fantastic artwork by UK's Grid Pattern. Dare to Dream! Its not only our credo at re:discovery records but it's also our goal in hearing music that was made for the stars.
A remarkable one-off tribute to the drummer behind the most sampled break of all time, Clyde Stubblefield, this 7” goes straight for the glitchy jugular, cutting up Stubblefield’s breaks from his time with James Brown into a blizzard of rhythmically complex, tightly programmed IDM, underpinned by deep, dark sub-bass.Stubblefield passed away in 2017, but his legacy lives on through numerous tracks that sampled his work across genres like hip hop, jungle, and, well, more or less every other genre. Most were uncredited and he wasn’t paid for his contributions.German artist SELEKTOR55 wanted to pay tribute to Stubblefield in the most respectful way possible, and what better than a 7” created to reproduce the look and feel of a 1970s funk 45?For Clyde’s four tracks bleed into each other, the intricate breaks and beats almost jumping off the needle. Crucially, as experimental as this is, SELEKTOR55 retains the funk, giving Stubblefield a fitting tribute from an IDM master. This is a vinyl-only release. 155 hand-stamped and hand-numbered copies. There will be no digital.
Our forthcoming release from Roma Khropko has a story behind it. After producing some tracks for his girlfriend, she liked them so much that they were included in a mix for the Club Vision POOORCast Series. We loved the tracks so much that we asked for the ID and now, here we are, releasing them on our label. CV08 is real connection. Music is connection.
It's not every day we see a new release from John Beltran's alias Indio. With releases previously only on Transmat and Rhytmic Tech some 10 and 20 years ago we are very exited to present to you his new EP called Phoenix, and what a release it is! Phoenix is a full on Detroit dance floor belter with warm strings and comes with strong remixes from E.R.P. and Stryke. TIP!
