2023 and Frigio return to one of their flagship collection series, Frigio Allstars. This fifth installment marks a new venture for the label with a spread of different styles explored by old friends and new monikers. One fresh pseudonym is Starhawk & Friends, known from
Vol. 1 as I-Land Beat, who offers up a broken beat belter guaranteed to put crooked smiles on faces. Returnees include Rambal Cochet with the rap infused elegance of “Metacortex”while Sons of Traders digs deep into dissonance and distortion for “I Don’t Inspire Hope.”
Jack Carel is back after his appearance on Vol. 4 with two tracks that range from the hiphop inspired strings and snares of “4 Seasons” to genre bending daredevilry of “Friday Rocks." Delivering a stripped back New Beaty beast, Neud Photo returns to the series with “Spark Knock” which bares its teeth through a haze of static and angular melodies. Warped patterns and lost language are the chosen tools for a hypno-trip from Textbeak
Defa Voctave before the industrial undercurrents of Death Posture (Daniel Holt to some) leads us out of a 12” that explores a spectrum of sounds across its eight tracks.

After its acclaimed first release, the mysterious entity Low Khey is back on Comic Sans Records with a killer 10 tracks album evolving around deviant industrial dancehall, experimental trap and balearic flavours. Including featuring with Catnapp, Enae and Stencil d'A.
Parallel Minds returns after a two-year hiatus with a dub-infested celestial dance debut from a promising Toronto-based producer, record-slinger, and long-time DIY scene mainstay, FicilioFicilio, a.k.a. Will Gillespie and the Parallel Minds crew have enjoyed a long musical friendship. Having met at various underground raves in Toronto, it wasn't long before they found themselves on the same lineups and began trading tunes post-show. When label co-founder Ciel first heard the tunes that would eventually end up on Parallel Minds 003, she was mesmerised by the deep, misty grooves present throughout. 'Dangerous Goods' is the creation of an artist with a super dialed-in sound, whose attention to detail, cohesion, and sound design suggest experience wise-beyond-their-years.‘Rush-V’ begins the release with a shimmery bang, propelled by infectious chord stabs that sound like they're sprinkled with alien fairy dust and grounded by a driving and subby drum groove. 'Fluid Form' continues in this trajectory, all spacey synths and dubbed out stabs propped up by tough and bouncy drums and a deep low sub. There is an unmistakable 90s influence on these tracks, halfway between old Swayzak and the early 90s output of Dutch label ESP Records. Ficilio is not afraid to flirt with dub techno AND trance influences, which is most discernible on the last track on the A-side, the sublime 'UAM'.In comparison to the other side, the B-side is a more sub-loaded affair. The drums on this side are less driving and more broken, chopped, and staggered. They work spectacularly on the title track, its vocal chops complement the low-slung groove of the drums to a hypnotic head-nodding effect. 'Second Fold' intrigues immediately with its unusual tempo, fluttering along in a leisurely way until these enchanted synth stabs come in and the track blooms like a beautiful flower. The release comes to a Zen-like close on 'Frame (Amber Mix)', the heavy sub and sparse arpeggiated loops draw us deep within its cavernous interiors.
Four heady cuts, mind-bending and bold. For curious dancers, their stories to unfold. From Lithuanian maestro, Pletnev his name.Modular beats, a rhythmic refrain…Echocentric Records & R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings team up to bring you,‚And You Never Come Back EP‘ by Pletnev.
w/ Nuron RemixWe are pleased to present Voice Notes 001, a new label from Toby Tobias / Alphonse. Toby co-ran London Housing Trust and Voice Notes will feature some names familiar to LHT fans. However, the first release comes from a brand new name - Cherrie Bea -with a 4 track EP entitled 'Jafar's 21st'. Who is Jafar? We have no idea. And we don't know much about Cherrie either apart from the fact he lives in South-West London and is deep af. Maybe more will be revealed after this EP.The EP contains 3 original tracks taking you into Cherries cosmic world with a late night/early morning vibe. We get lush instrumentation and production, intricate guitar licks, voice synths, synth flourishes, and heavenly harmonies.A remix comes from one of our heroes, Nuron, the in-house producer at Likemind records -A legendary 90s imprint. He took on the lead track and made it all his own - a heads-down, building monster. ( Can we get a WOII? )
The second release on Tonight’s Dream Records is delivered by Baltimore-based ambient and new-school Kosmische guitar musician PJ Dorsey, better known as Tarotplane. The Ektachrome Dawn follows on from the stunning Horizontology (12th Isle) and Light Self All Others (Impatience). He describes the album as a collage of work collated since 2017. Drawing in on inspirations from guitar-oriented psych and modern ambient music, using elements he values and revere in older 70’s head records and mixes it with modern techniques and influences. The tracks fuse traditional rock music, ethereal ambient textures and downtempo electronica, blended together seamlessly to create an engaging and unique listen throughout. The artwork has once again been designed by Tonight’s Dream Art Director Jonny Edmund-Jones. The circular sun collage was formed from various textures and curves collected over time—a similar idea as each of Tarotplanes tracks, starting as separate pieces. When the collage curves are viewed together, they create a whole/circle/sun, like the completed album. The album has been mastered by prolific producer and mastering engineer Rafael Anton Irisarri at Black Knoll Studio who has worked on album for artists such as Inhmost, Juliana Barwick, Grouper, Steve Hauschildt, Loscil, Telefon Tel Aviv and Tycho amongst hundreds of others.
On the inaugural release of Västkransen Variations, Salary Boy and Ari Bald team up to explore four shades of house. While both these Stockholm producers have been hailed for their tasty sample-based dance tracks, they now reveal a deeper side of themselves. On the A-side, Salary Boy gives us “Newland Court”, whose bassline and jazzy soundscapes might bring a certain Larry Heard to mind. However, the production is a timeless piece of house beauty. On his remix, Ari Bald infuses the track with punchy breakbeats and wild arpeggios. On the AA-side, Ari continues with “Daytrippin’”, a retro-futuristic saga which plays out in a dreamlike, almost druggy, haze. Salary Boy then closes the record with his own interpretation of the track, stripping it down it into a powerful four-on-the-floor spinner.
