Off The Grid unveils the second chapter of its label, this time with two tracks (A1 and B1) from Mataemon, an alter ego of Tolga Fidan, who puts his years of experience into forging two powerful cuts that balance the strengths of the past with the visions of the future, laying driving, deep and playful elements over steady grooves, raving straight from the heart.

Butter Side Up Records has put together a first-ever remix EP which is due to land in March 2024. It finds Gene On Earth, Garrett David, Huerta, and Driss Bennis aka OCB all adding their own spin to the still standout originals from the album Sweely released here in 2022, and it comes with original artwork from Max Binski. Each artist was given the freedom to pick any track from the Closer Energy LP and do with it as they please. First up is Limousine Dream man and new school favourite Gene On Earth who flips 'Minilook' into one of his signature tech house cuts. It's a lively one with warped cosmic lines and plenty of pent-up funk. Next up is Gramaphone Records and Smart Bar Chicago resident Garrett David. He converts 'Security' into a punchy cut with hints of garage percussion. It's run through with future-facing synths and bright chord stabs that up the energy levels next to ravey sirens.Berlin-based American Huerta is synonymous with plenty of tasty tunes on the likes of his own Leizure as well as Slow Life, Small Hours and many more. His remix of 'Call Me Tonight' is a warm and balmy trip to the stars on muted neon lines and surging house drums that are effortlessly slick and compelling. Last but not least, Casa Voyager's Moroccan talent Driss Bennis does it all from silky electro to pumping techno and here reworks 'Not Part Of It' to perfection: the wonky bassline never quits, the raw drums are perfectly designed, and the chords are drenched in hi-tek soul. These are four masterfully functional but always fun cuts for house connoisseurs everywhere.
This release is a tribute to the friendships I have built over the years within the electronic music scene. Once again, the occupying squad went heavy on the record… 4 Club Tracks in-between nods to the rave culture, old-school electro flavour with a neat modern twist, the usual breakbeats bonanza and a very naughty trance remix on top !Featuring : S.A.M., Nathan Melja, Kasper Marott & Fareed. All tracks produced in Paris, Berlin & Copenhague.
Through 35 hedonistic highlights stretched across three volumes, Music For The Radical Xenomaniac delivers the first ever deep dive into The Netherlands’ colourful house sound of the 90s and the under-celebrated producers and record labels whose music soundtracked a countrywide cultural movement.Plenty of books and documentaries have celebrated the riotous raves, legendary clubs, high profile DJs and promoters who shaped The Netherlands’ hedonistic house scene throughout the 90s. Music For The Radical Xenomaniac dares to challenge these narratives by shining a light, for the first time, on those who created the scene’s kaleidoscopic, game-changing and globally influential soundtrack.Leading the charge were a disparate group of key creators who not only forged links with their counterparts in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom, but also became celebrated figures on the worldwide electronic underground (Eric Nouhan, Aad De Mooy, Orlando Voorn, Stefan Robbers and Steve Rachmad). Alongside key underground imprints (Stealth Records, Basic Energy, ESP, Prime and Outland Records included) and lesser-known producers, these pioneers gave flavour to a radical musical movement via open-mindedness, unheard-of creativity and a genuinely futuristic ethos. All of these artists and labels are represented throughout the series. So, what defined this hedonistic house sound from The Netherlands? Stylistically, it was varied – as the series so emphatically proves – but was defined by a set of distinctive sonic characteristics: emotive musical motifs, high-frequency synth sounds, mellow basslines, pulsating rhythms and more than a touch of hallucinatory intent.Volume 1 boasts a wealth of notable tracks and slept-on gems. There’s ‘No Strings Attached (Freedom of the Soul Work)’ by Marionette, a magical spell of percussion-rich fairy-tale house from 1991 courtesy of R.o.X.Y Amsterdam resident DJ Dimitri and mellow pioneer Eric Nouhan, and the sole single by Eindhoven techno producer MAX404 as Faceless Techno Bastards, the rushing excellence of ‘Go Mellow’.Other highlights include Rachmad Project’s ‘Summer Breeze’, a chirpy house masterpiece from foundational producer Steve Rachmad that first appeared on Outland Records offshoot Spiritual Records, a genuine oddball obscurity from John Krengiëlczak as Land of Fantasy, Tales And Myths (‘And They Lived Happily Ever After’), and a seriously sought-after cut from Rotterdam duo Space Trax, 1992’s ‘Aura’.Packed full of forward-thinking 90s gems remastered for today’s dance floors by Alden Tyrell, Music For The Radical Xenomaniac Volume 1 is a life-affirming celebration of a distinctly Dutch musical movement, whose rich textures and melodies are still inspiring new generations of DJs and dancers today.
Caposile Music is back again with another stunning Ep by its regular monthly guest Manuel De Lorenzi.Manuel is with no doubts a technical student at the old school’s sound. After his almost 20 years of productions, he always searches the perfect combination between grooves from the past with a future attitude and this time he landed on Caposile Music with 3 groovy tunes perfect for any moment of the party. Accompanying by the rising star T. Jacques who gives another dancefloor’s touch to the title’s track. This is “You Freak Me Ep”On the A side we have the title’s track “You Freak Me” who has a strong percussive groove with crunchy vocals and nice chords. Then the other one “Residency” is more uplifting with a killer bassline. On the B side we have the solid remix of “You Freak Me” by T. Jacques who delivers us a fat groove and rolling bassline with Manuel’s rolling percussions. To close the release, we have “Spice The Gap” on B2 Who is an anthem to rock dancefloor, always accompanying by Manuel’s touch with raw percussions, deep stabs and crispy vocals. With this Ep Manuel wanted to create something unique, fat and raw sound and we think this is gonna be a solid one.
For the second release we have four unreleased tracks made between 1994 to 1996 at Alien Recording studio in London from duo PAN-TONE (Alec Stone & Andy panayi). Best friends for over 35 years, both had a passion for making their own style of music and getting out it to the people around the world. Sadly passed away, Andy has been a very big font of inspiration for us, we are proud to release these four housey tracks from the past to all of you.
