The Jaffa Kid's prolific music-making is well known at this point, with a wide-ranging palette that takes in the full range of electronic genres, from jungle to techno to ambient. But here on his second EP for Gated - appropriately titled Second Frequencies - the boy named after a biscuit (or is it a cake?) goes deep. Really deep.Kicking off with the beatless but driving Phased For Days, the EP has a kind of relentless hypnotism to it, with Trinian's almost 7 minutes of spaced out electro.Flip to the B and the acid comes to the fore, with War On Words and its addictive 303 line pulsing over the Kid's signature pads.Tangential throws in some breaks under gritty acid, and Not The Way rounds out the EP with a truly poignant melodic beatdown.

Outer Order presents his debut EP on his own imprint with a journey through his sonic vision with 5 tracks that suit different moments on or off the dancefloor.Heavily inspired by late 80s and early 90s UK, Detroit and Chicago productions that were brought to his knowledge by his father, Outer Order set out to recreate his own view on this era by indulging in the hardware and techniques used at the time, setting a timeless tone to this 5 track EP.Recorded, produced and mixed by Reece Ashibende-Dunn aka Outer Order at his home studio in Mallorca, Spain.Mastered by Marco Pellegrino at Analogcut.Artwork by Todd Gartland.
Oyez ! Oh yeah ! Cheval Detroit is here! Mmmh presents his new project with his most accomplished piece of music, a triple albummmh curated in his Parisian basement aka the sm dungeon. For 2 years, Mmmh has seen no other light than his own computer screen. No need, indeed, to confront the world and its urban apocalypse when you have a vessel shaped to produce light and hope. Hidden behind a rough cover, we have no doubt the music will penetrate your heart. As in a video game experience, you can dive and evolve in his childish world, level after level, adventure after adventure. This very colorful album is not your usual techno tool - It jumps from aquatic and dancefloor beats to hopeful ambient textures, or fast paced, funky and threatening techno. We must warn you : This is highly addictive.
The next jewel to be unearthed from Planet Euphorique is the much anticipated debut ep from London based eoin dj. This stellar release is an anything goes collage of samples, moods and grooves from all corners of the dance music spectrum, all the while going steady and keeping it club-ready.Play Nasty puts its money where its mouth is; titillating vocal chops flit and flirt around fiercely precise drums and throbbing bass notes; modern sound hacks are diced and spliced with classic techno motifs. The end result sits somewhere between a punctual club tool and a peak time hot-and-sexy-moment-on-the-dancefloor number, with Pulsing Crystal taking the same hybrid approach. Basslines and kick drums come in and out and change positions - the track is an amalgam of hard house, electro and techno primed for any hour of the night. On the flip comes Artificial Intelligence, the second collaboration between eoin dj and Byron Yeates. A tried and tested no frills tek stomper made to rattle and shake, with peaks and troughs stationed around an irresistible vocal sample: Heads down, hands up, say no more. The tempo is bumped up a notch for title track Fantasi, the creation mix flexes phased arpeggios that drift around a simple but sultry hard house bassline, which barely relents for the duration of the track. Kaleidoscopic vocal chops, prototypical stabs, skittering percussion; the B side comes together with a deliciously unified sound palate, sitting in the sweet spot between psytrance, hard house and techno.
