Amir El-Saffar, Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch
Inner Spaces
Amir ElSaffar, trumpeter, santur player, singer and composer, and Lorenzo Bianchi-Hoesch, performer and composer of electronic music, together create a new project that explores electroacoustic spaces, maqam, microtonal harmonies and improvised structures.
Able to combine the dreamy and delicate moments typical of Middle Eastern music with much more violent and radical traits, Inner Spaces presents itself as a concert on the border between different aesthetics and cultures, where abandonment and immersion are the key words of the artistic discourse.
Inner Spaces was recorded at Pioneer Works, Brooklyn, NY and in Europe at Boulez Hall in Berlin.
Produced by the Face Foundation in collaboration with PS21, Pioneer Works and Ornithology Productions.
