Mysticisms’ Dubplate series reaches its tenth release with a special focus on Persian’s genre-blurring music, presenting new remixes and versions from rising producers and label associates. Originally a sporadic offshoot celebrating dub-influenced dance music, the series has grown into a core part of the label’s identity. This instalment introduces South London’s Picasso, known for abstract, atmospheric club productions, alongside Sam “Andrews” McKay, who brings ambient, jazz, and experimental influences to his immersive, dub-heavy reinterpretations. Across the EP, they transform Persian’s originals into fresh forms—from dub house swing and psychedelic breakbeat excursions to deep digi-dub experiments and trippy, groove-driven stepper - delivering a rich, modern exploration of Persian’s sound system–rooted universe.
