Oyez ! Oh yeah ! Cheval Detroit is here! Mmmh presents his new project with his most accomplished piece of music, a triple albummmh curated in his Parisian basement aka the sm dungeon. For 2 years, Mmmh has seen no other light than his own computer screen. No need, indeed, to confront the world and its urban apocalypse when you have a vessel shaped to produce light and hope. Hidden behind a rough cover, we have no doubt the music will penetrate your heart. As in a video game experience, you can dive and evolve in his childish world, level after level, adventure after adventure. This very colorful album is not your usual techno tool - It jumps from aquatic and dancefloor beats to hopeful ambient textures, or fast paced, funky and threatening techno. We must warn you : This is highly addictive.
The third release is a split Ep born from the meeting between Emi Omar and Sucre Sucre in the nights of Nantes, connecting their souls with similar bass faces and head moves, recognizing themselves in the same groove. Emi Omar takes over the A side, delivering two bangers with his singular sonorities. The first one is driven by a solid bassline, accompanied with a smooth vocoder melted in the drums. The track is split in two by a beautiful switch to finally take a more electronica vibe. The second one is a very heady progressive tune created as a potion recipe where elements appears as it goes along. Then, Sans Sucre brings a bright B side with different tracks. The first one is based on a fatty acid line, with ravy elements, spiced by analogue chords to raise it up. The second one, more melancholic, has an electro wave nature, punctuated by vocoder and radical changes. Feel free to use them anytime. Please do it, at home, at school and mostly; in the club !
Kommuna is back with the “Silent Uproar” EP featuring James Andrew with a special feel-good track that sets a positive dancefloor vibe through dreamy breaky rhythms. Driahn’s “Recreate” provides elegant breaks for what can be the perfect track for the obscure late hours. The B-Side of the record is an energy blast with Driahn’s “Phazed & Confused” infectious groove bringing damage to the dancefloor and Pekkuliar’s ghetto-tech inspired track closing this versatile EP in an unexpected way.Track by track, we build a Kommuna of well-established artists but also unknown studio dwellers who share a fixation for music discovery without following any trends or limitations.
For this second opus, Chat Noir Rec continues its momentum and offers a various composed of 4 tracks all different and complementary. The Ep opens on the track " Prendre l'Air " by Vitess. We find the signature of the young producer with a neat and precise production, all enhanced by a millimetric breakbeat and an airy atmosphere, backed by an acid lead. The second track is priduced by Pépé Elle who offers here a one-way ticket to England with his UKG infused "Carbon Dance" track We find all the markers of the style, from syncopated rhythmics to powerful wobble bass. Perfect to turn a club upside down on any circumstance. The Italians from MDC open the B side with the track Bouncing. The atmosphere gets darker and sweatier. We find grimmy vocals, a heady and efficient acid bassline. The Ep closes on the track The Resistance by Wilt. We continue to evolve in darker atmospheres with a tension that is created throughout the track without ever failing, all supported by a powerful breakbeat that will leave no one intact.
Back in the early days of the UKG scene it was all about those famous Sunday sessions. This EP from Twostep2 captures the magic of that special time across three hefty and bass-driven new cuts that stay firmly entrenched in the underground sound. 'I Can't Let It Go' is a raw and jostling cut with metallic hits and a classic pitched-up r&b vocal. There is more cheeky skip and swing to 'Sound Of The Hardcore' with its innocent melodies and kinetic kicks, while closer 'War Of Da Worldz' brings 2step shuffle, great Big Ben samples and sustained chords that bring the soul.
This release is a tribute to the friendships I have built over the years within the electronic music scene. Once again, the occupying squad went heavy on the record… 4 Club Tracks in-between nods to the rave culture, old-school electro flavour with a neat modern twist, the usual breakbeats bonanza and a very naughty trance remix on top !Featuring : S.A.M., Nathan Melja, Kasper Marott & Fareed. All tracks produced in Paris, Berlin & Copenhague.
