The Hateful Eight for dancefloor aficionados comes to you from France. Label Exarde is ready to hit with some bangers in ya chest - as always - with this fresh fourtracker from Lille's producer Aymeric.Young musician from Northen France is a serious man and does not mess about. He has his own strictly vinyl imprint “These Tasty Records” with three releases already in his roaster. He was also spotted on five different vinyl releases but this time it is going be his first solo EP. Sitting in the lockdown Aymeric was inspired with proven classics from 1990-2000's and the roaring spirit of the dance crowd. Get ready for some rudest grooves for the peak time.
Chat Noir Tools continues to dig into the new scene to put the light on up & coming producers. For our first release of 2023 we're thrilled to introduce parisian DJ & producer Lungo! His Game Over EP is a four tracker inspired by the retro-gaming universe and crafted for a heavy dancefloor use.
SUB/014 comes from one of Voigtmann's English wunderkinds - JAMIE LEATHER. Jamie has a wonderful way of weaving melodies into his creations creating sophisticated yet club ready tracks that have been tried by Claus and tested at many occasions during his tours. 'A1 - Universal Space Ride' delivers a monster, a driving club cut that meanders within light and darkness and will get bodies moving on the floor. 'A2 - Tokyo Crossing' comes in hot with references to Japanese quirkiness, big drums, big bassline and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the cut. 'B1 - Hausa Boogie' is a deeper meditative track that floats along with the special 'Jamie Leather classiness'. 'B2 - Control' is the icing on the cake and delivers a wonderful, floaty downtempo track. A special EP.
Ikävä Pii’s vinyl debut is a collection of three original songs, complemented with two recent remixes by Arif and Monty DJ. The three original works (Palau Figment, Rampage and La Conga Di Corto) are some of Ikävä Pii’s early productions – but were recovered in London between 2020 and 2021, to be released on Flippen Disks. Opener Palau Figment is a dive into a non-chronological sonic archive, a reluctant visit of a time past. Its saturated, driving drum machine beat is hesitantly accompanied by floating synthesizer play and takes us right into dream-land, grounded by a mono bass line that throughout the song is joined by a doubling replica in stereo - a memory of itself if you will; A nostalgic narrative told by a hardly comprehensible voice, while “Rampage” does a good job shredding it it right up, exposing the distortion of memory in its growing destruction of it’s driving force, the synthesized string sound that is eventually rendered nearly unrecognizable. This painful process of acknowledgement finds its cathartic reconciliation on the flip. “La Conga di Corto” combines the tropes of the A-side into an ecstatic 5 minutes of loopy, shifty drums and broken up synthesizers. Arif’s Woo Reduction keeps it’s titles promise, taking few elements from the original track into a minimal club track that will make dancefloors pause and bounce alike. Monty DJ’s Transformation Dub is a much less minimalistic approach, stacking layers of percussion on top of each other, shifting form constantly.
Another big release on SOUNDS. in the rebound. This time it's Modal - Carnivalesque (2x12") by Woody Mcbride and Dave Stevens from 1997.Don't sleep on this official re-mastered re-issue!
