Frappé is releasing its 1st studio EP on November 30th and it's a standout record: the parisian label has asked the great Art Of Tones to collaborate with the jazz / funk band Chatobaron, whose leader is Frank Chatona (from Cotonete). This is a highly special project for the label, coming from the heart of its founders Basile de Suresnes and Ten Fingerz, who have had the will to create this unique collaboration between the amazing House music producer Art Of Tones and top-quality studio musicians. Under the direction of the House Music artist, the band led by Frank Chatona (Saxophone, drums, guitar, bass guitar and keyboards) have worked together on the tracks, which have been recorded during a very intense studio session in Paris. The result is a crystal-clear and warm sounding EP, which is a hybrid between the club sound and the jazz funk studio sound. Frappé has decided to celebrate this work the best possible way with a digital release and a limited edition vinyl pressing. Only 300 copies will be available, don't miss it!
As luck would have it, this seventh exclusive Deep Site Vinylized edition sees the pure class of Tojami Sessions (Dessous Recordings/Plastic City) with two stand out original tracks each offering remixes that contrast and compliment the full atmosphere of this release.Falling (Original Mix) takes you on a late afternoon cruise filled with soft seductive whispers and a surprise percussion during the break.Falling (Manuel Sahagun Remix) adds more of a jazzy element, focus on inspiring words, and the laid back improvisation keep the groove flowing non-stop.Falling (Kessidis Remix) takes on a more mystical and minimal approach amidst modulating synths and the spoken words declaring what is to unfold. What Is Love (Original Mix) The extended intro and groovy bassline start this track off, bathing you in sunlight while the vocal samples splash over and refresh you creating a radiant joy. What Is Love (Deep Spelle Remix) layers some harder beats and an 808 bassline producing that contagious dancing feeling impossible to resist. What Is Love (Funtom Remix) sends the track to high emotional levels with use of melody and dynamics making it a true anthem bound to leave its touch.
This autumn Ludwig A.F. aveils his first full-length album project. It is a very personal collection of ten pieces inspired by a special location near his home in the Taunus region of Germany. He recorded the songs as soon as he returned to his studio, inspired by the atmosphere of the place. He has been collating the pieces over the course of almost a decade.“Air“ is an atmospheric and ambiguous collection of music that at times is rhythm and sound design driven but mainly focuses on the home listener with its picturesque melodies and ambiances.“Air” will be in stores digitally and physically on October 7th 2022.
Through the alias Trascend∆nce, coined in 2021, Riccardo Buccirossi obtains an alchemical mixture of techno, electro and acid, which are precisely the strands from which he draws inspiration for the debut album of Havalon Records founded by Alessandro Di Fulvio and Jacopo. In "Formula", a title in line with the alchemical world, he unrolls a red-hot metal spiral on a soft and malleable beat that melts like butter under the desert sun. "Reaction" moves on similar coordinates through TB-303 barbed wire and bleepy squares in the background. Finally, the left setting of "Creation" is followed by "Havok" which summarizes the Detroit lesson by intertwining it with vibrant and virtuous acid veins.
Back to the Various Artists format for Nuances de Nuit, this time with Man/ipulate, Yamen & EDA, Midge Thompson and Cosmic JD.
Maara’s latest effort comes straight from the inner zone. Whether meant for use as vision quest guidance or club hedonism, Fancy Feast continues the Canadian’s tradition of crafting seductive, trance-inducing dance music in mesmeric fashion.‘Can’t Slo Down’ is a vehicle for transcendence. Locked-in, hypnotic fare with subtle gear shifts consistent with Maara’s propensity towards trippy atmospherics and urgent dancefloor dynamics. Then, in a heady alloy of ritual throb and fractal warehouse ruffness, ‘Highrollerz’ finds Maara at her most propulsive.Prog reigns supreme across the record, but 'Princess Express' has the third-eye dilating magick in full effect. It’s both fractal and functional, a ritual incantation with rugged appeal. ‘Rude, Crude & Out Of Control’, on the other hand, harks back to those halcyon days of the free party movement. Proper breakbeat torque with yet another healthy dose of prog.
