After shifting clandestinely between second hand crates as a bootleg vinyl for the last 25 years, Eddie Fowlkes’ Deepcover finally gets a proper pressing and 2 remixes by one of today’s most dedicated students of electro funk, OCB (Driss Bennis). Originally released on the Magic Tracks compilation CD by Juan Atkins, featuring tracks by artists like James Stinson and Keith Tucker, the track has all the elements of early techno soul straight from the hands of its inventor. Indescribable sounds combine in unexpected ways that just fit, pushing and pulling in all the right directions.

Following the success of their first release, Leeds-based label On Rotation returns with a 4-track EP from Australian producer Solar Suite. Expanding on the contemporary style of his debut release on Echocentric Records, the Slingshot EP shows off his ability to inject groove and a sense of fun into a trippy, compelling framework.Joining him on the remix is fellow Aussie and Step Ball Chain label head Roza Terenzi, twisting the title track into a dark and brooding peak time stomper.“This EP was written throughout Melbourne's 2020 lockdown, what seems like an eternity ago... In hindsight, it provided me with the perfect opportunity to grow and learn as a producer.Finding the motivation and drive to write and finish these tracks was a definite challenge, but overall something I am very proud of and ecstatic to have the opportunity to be working with Adam, Marlon, Chris and Katie to bring this to life.”This marks the second release for On Rotation, the party turned label headed by Chris I’Anson, Lisene & Adam Pits. “We’re hyped to have Solar Suite on the label for our second release and excited to share what we have in store for the future of the label. Once again the artwork has been done by the amazing Bristol based Illustrator Patch D Keyes.” - Chris
Hypnotic techno and electro from the enigmatic Dutchman Taupe, who has released a steady stream of Detroit-influenced cuts across European labels like Impress and Tech-um, plus his own Colours label. For Gated he presents four tracks that remain pure to his strong Motor City influences.Kicking off the wax, ‘Rootless’ is a spacey, mesmirising, and driving track that gradually builds momentum in the best way.Next up, ‘Marrakesh’ takes things a little harder and deeper, keeping that tripped out vibe and pushing things forward. For the B-side, ‘Terra’ brings out some eerie electro underpinned by a rolling bassline, while ‘Bloom’ rounds off the EP with perhaps the most melodic track of all.
For the fifth release of Thé Chaud Records, Jeff The Fool and Wilt associate their skills to make a deep sentimental EP shaped for the clubs.
After a sick intergalactical party on The Archivarius dancefloor, Antam records is back with an afterparty friendly 5 trackers. The Italian duo delivers a deep journey through sunrise infused groovy techno cuts. Antam creatures are set to relax in Saturn with these full emotion tracks. Perfectly balanced to get in shape during the morning good vibes before going back to the exploration of space.
Solo album by Betonkust (Dutch for Concrete Coast). The vinyl comes with a booklet containing drum patterns used on the album, together with a download link of the original samples that you can use for your own music. This record includes a Bandcamp download code for the digital files. Short bio from Betonkust: I was born in Utrecht (1988). I grew up in a very small town somewhere between Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Hilversum. The so-called 'green heart' of the Netherlands. That means there's lots of nature. It was very boring and/or normal. A typical Dutch 1990s upbringing. I've been listening to house music for as long as I can remember. On cassette tapes, on the radio, it was everywhere. Now I live in Rotterdam and there's a lot going on, mainly in the area of electronic music. There is Operator Radio, Clone, Pinkman, etc. Most of my friends are involved in music in some way. The older I get the less I care about gear. I didn't use any expensive or exotic stuff. Korg Electribes (both the sampler and the synth), Korg M1, some Boss effects pedals, a cheap mixer, a Shure SM57 mic, a cheap guitar. For this album everything was recorded in FL Studio. Some tracks on the album started like five years ago with a melody and slowly developed into a full song. Other songs were made one month before mastering. It really depends. But most of the work was done in 2020 and 2021. I think most of this album is about transience, giving up, the infinite sadness of humanity.
Passionate about building bridges between past and present electronic music influences, Frappé is back with a fifth EP named “Afrodisiaque” . Keeping in mind that contemporary electronic dance music finds its origins in the sound of African and Afro-American communities, this new record is the missing link between world famous artists of the “Afro House” genre and the French productions of the early 00s. Offering 5 tracks for as many artists.
