UTE012 is an EP from Ute co-founder Teo Bachs who is coming straight off his EP debut on the Seoul based label Junction Forest. This time around traversing more moody and melancholic territory showcasing his spectrum of deep trance, tribal breaks & hypnotic atmospheres for his Ute.Rec EP debut.

Evolving synth lines with a generative structure from new massive modular patches. Progressive minimalistic rhythms and sequenced tracks with different results as always elements can change every time they are played back again as a unique listening. A rare topic this time is that two 303 basslines have been addeddin the track GenOp10, they are interlaced with different step lenghts patterns as a tribute to put this classic synth from roland into a spacey environment and not always in the raver side of the music. The limited edition vinyl has been pressed in 180gr. keeping up theanalog character sound in this format, meanwhile the digital version will be a clearer and clinical one.

Joel Brittain's music is defined more by what it isn't than by what it is. This is breakbeat... but not, house... but not, electro... but not. Hell, there's even a hint of prog in these expansive, indefinable tracks that switch-up in oh-so-unexpected ways.Perhaps it's because this US-born, UK-based producer has been bubbling in various scenes for so long. Brittain had a string of releases in the 2000s on labels like Wrong, Reverberations, and Tango, plus ran his own label Nonsuch Recordings.But all the while he was busy making music, refining a vast cache of unreleased tracks.It’s from this treasure trove that States of Mind draws, but it still sounds like it could have been made this year.So yes it's breakbeat, yes it's house, and yes it's electro... and it's all the better for it.
