The mighty Schatrax label drops a reissue of a reissue, which was a reissue that we'd been keen to have back on our shelves for a while! If that all sounds a bit complicated, don't worry, we just mean to say that Josh Brent (label founder and purveyor of the Schatrax music) has decided to press a new edition of 2008's Vintage Vinyl 2 reissue. The tracks are all the same, of course, starting with the swinging and bumpy stride of "Restless Nights", followed by the dusty highs and deranged bleeps of "Turntribal" on the flip, and finally the woozy chimes of "The Almighty" as a final act. Green vinyl with hand-stamped Schatrax logo. Yes

Trippsy strikes again! Following in the memories of our various artists label debut, this release is riddled with swift round-house kicks, heavy punches and killer ninja combos that will knock any raver into the 4th dimension. Saddle up, for another Tripnotic exploration into music via Hypnohouse Records!
Baby Mammoth’s seventh album, helpfully titled “Seven Up”, was originally released on CD in 2001 by Pork Recordings (Dave ‘Porky’ Brennand and Steve Cobby) who were behind household names “Fila Brazillia” and “Bullitnuts”, pioneering the sound of the late 90s / early 2000s downtempo, ambient, and trip hop scene. In collaboration with Pork Recordings, Seven Up is now being released by Musical Charis on vinyl for the first time. Baby Mammoth mastered the sound of downtempo lounge in this album which has stood the test of time, warranting its re-release. In this album, Baby Mammoth stay true to their traditional funky downtempo course, while the guitar plucks and modulations of “1” certainly make for a joyful listen. "And I'll See You" leans heavily on a vocal sample from Jimmy Scott's “Under the Sycamore Tree” and provides a nice introduction for the swoops in “Baroque 'n' Roll” which drift in on clouds of strings. “Frozen” gets bubblier and "Pink Elephants" gets more spare and groovier with its bongo and flute-driven sensation (a real crowd favourite!). Indeed, they maintain a sense of fun throughout the album, keeping things on the lighter side, driving up the dub reverb on "Deadpool”, or engaging with some vocal snippets on “Frank's Angels”. Baby Mammoth will have you giddy with this release on vinyl.
The “A.N.E.P” release consists of three tracks which transcend you to the world of Keramati, quirky electro, splashes of acid and rave themes throughout. The A1. “A.P” is built upon crunchy and mechanical movements, laced with trippy tones throughout. Sinister synths melt together creating an illuminated atmosphere for the chugging body of the track to continue its drive forward. “Ecliptic” sits comfortably as the A2, an elasticated simmering bass line stirring around the dusty nostalgic drums, before switching up into a bubbling groove and acid whirlpool.Taking up the whole B side is “A Never Ending Pattern” a gripping nine minute quest that showcases Kamyar’s signature production energy. The track continues to develop throughout as many curious elements and textures are invited to the table, each of them conversing with the other. A huge sounding track that will light up club and festival spaces in the coming period.
Following two manifesto-albums, which quickly became an influence of marginal musics in France, Olivier Demeaux & Armelle Oberlé asked artists whose directions they share to revisit some of the flagship titles of their catalog. We thus find there the priest of the English pysché Sonic Boom? the cantor of slow techno Toloose Low Trax, the experimenter of the modular_synths Le Crabe or Zohar, UVB76, PlimPlim and many others.
Third and last episode of the Generative Operation series is here.Completing the same style and vision, cinematic, technical and minimal concept trying to push forward a contemporary electro in our days. Evolving synth lines with a generative structure from new massive modular patches. Progressive minimalistic rhythms and sequenced tracks with different results as always elements can change every time they are played back again as a unique listening. A rare topic this time is that two 303 basslines have been addeddin the track GenOp10, they are interlaced with different step lenghts patterns as a tribute to put this classic synth from roland into a spacey environment and not always in the raver side of the music. The limited edition vinyl has been pressed in 180gr. keeping up theanalog character sound in this format, meanwhile the digital version will be a clearer and clinical one.
