return_backspace is excited beyond measure to present to the world the music of a young marco repettoconceived during the heydays of atari-sequencing, under his beloved moniker planet love, the bern-residing, italian producer at long last will disclose some of his earliest compositionsin nine tracks - spanning three extended plays - the headstrong musician demonstrates ingenuity once again; amalgamating otherworldly soundwaves and advanced production technique into a one-off kind of seminal technonew era e.p. makes the initial part in the triptych, and unfolds through its title track; an extraterrestrial soundscape sculptured autumn ’92, heavily reverberating repetto's profound fascination for 1950s science fictionflowers was recorded during the last days of ‘90, and is one the earliest experiments conceived under the alias. the track is a well balanced blend of measured psychedelic, and grand lushness, with vigour that has zero decayed. supremely effective at the end of a long night’s rave bird song is early ‘92 in full effect, and might just contain one of the catchiest bass-lines known to mankind. topped off with luxuriant pads, sweet samples, and irresistible bleep, repetto truly outdid himself on this one; romantic techno rarely gets more soulfulthree decades after their initial recording to digital audio tape, the natural naivety within each of these productions still is extremely tactile; reminiscent of a time when electronic music was in its infancy
With this second release, the label continues its VA series, here expanding the Broken District territory to a wider sound spectrum by diving into Deep House sounds, as well as Nu Disco, and Instrumental Hip Hop. The EP opens with Jus Jam & Momla, joining forces on “Pumpkin”, a dynamic House production inspired by the messy, smoky Jazz club atmosphere of the 30s, and featuring a live-recorded bassline as well as dirty samples of saxophone. You can smell the bayou on this one. For the second track, Momla goes solo with “Huckleberry Dream”, a beautiful Deep House journey with a melancholic vibe and Soulful influences. As per our first release, Marian Tone gives the final touch on the A-side, this time in collaboration with Duktus. Together they deliver a loose, funky Hip Hop ballad featuring a live-recorded saxophone that provides a nice jazzy vibe. On the flipside, Jus Jam opens with “Naked Lunch”, a ‘Slow House’ track again influenced by the 90s Hip Hop scene… the kind of music to be enjoyed while driving on the Pacific coast during a hot Summer night. Roller-disco time with “On The Mend” by Vienna-based artist Sam Irl. Here he provides us with a beautiful ode to the Filtered House era… with subtle Funk influences. London artist System Olympia provides the perfect conclusion to this second EP with “Do You Need Anybody”, a melancholic journey influenced by early Electronic sounds from the 80s. Welcome back to the Broken District.
R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings is honoured to welcome Budapest’s, Gnork to the label with a 4-tracker of spaced out house music.
Fukuinn's 3rd release on vivid blue color vinyl. A1 is edgy electro sounds from Bristol's "Lost Signal" resident trackmaker Fazack. A2 is a deep and floating track by Relaxant. He's released an EP on Florklang Records and is one of the hottest young artists out there. On B1, Böhm, known for his acid and bleep sounds, surprises with an acid-heavy masterpiece. His successes and releases in recent years have been very inspiring. Lyon's genius, Foreign Sequence, played the best bizarre sound with pleasant melody on the last track.
